REFRESHER TRAINING FOR CERTIFIED TRAINERS –
Updating Knowledge and Strengthening Everyday Training Practice

Many certified trainers completed their qualification several years ago. Since then, vocational education, workplace expectations and the needs of young people have continued to change.

At the same time, trainers often develop their own routines and practical approaches without having many opportunities to reflect on them or exchange experiences with others.

This workshop offers an opportunity to refresh important knowledge, explore current developments and strengthen confidence in everyday training practice.

  • Reflecting on the current role of trainers
  • Reviewing important responsibilities and legal foundations
  • Current developments in vocational education and the world of work
  • Understanding changing expectations among apprentices
  • Planning and structuring workplace learning
  • Refreshing practical training methods
  • Supporting independent learning and personal responsibility
  • Giving constructive feedback
  • Addressing mistakes, performance issues and difficult behaviour
  • Preparing for challenging conversations
  • Motivating apprentices without taking over responsibility
  • Supporting apprentices with different learning needs
  • Using digital tools and AI in vocational education
  • Reflecting on personal training routines

  • Developing ideas for improving training within the organisation

How Does the Company Benefit?

Certified trainers update their knowledge and reflect on their everyday practice.
They become more confident in dealing with current challenges, changing expectations and new developments in vocational education.

This supports consistent training quality and helps organisations identify outdated routines, clarify responsibilities and strengthen cooperation between everyone involved in training.

What Makes This Workshop Different

The workshop is not a repetition of an examination preparation course.

It focuses on the questions and situations that arise after trainers have gained practical experience and developed their own way of working.

Existing knowledge is refreshed where necessary, but the main emphasis is on current developments, realistic challenges and the exchange of practical experience.

What Participants Take Away

Participants gain new ideas, practical tools and greater clarity about their role.
They can compare their own approaches with those of other trainers, reflect on what is working well and identify areas they would like to develop further.

The workshop also provides space for questions that may have remained unanswered in everyday work.

International Perspective

The workshop can be adapted to different vocational education systems, legal frameworks and organisational structures.

For international groups, the content can focus on trainer development, quality in workplace learning and current challenges without referring to the German AEVO qualification.

German vocational training principles can also be used as a basis for professional exchange and comparison with local approaches.

  • Experienced workplace trainers and training coordinators
