IT’S ALL A MATTER OF ATTITUDE –
Mindset, Motivation and Personal Responsibility

How we think about challenges influences how we approach them. Some people see mistakes as proof that they are not good enough, while others use them as an opportunity to learn and improve.

In this workshop, apprentices explore how attitudes, expectations and personal beliefs influence their behaviour, motivation and development.

They learn how to take greater responsibility for their own progress, deal more constructively with setbacks and develop a mindset that supports learning, persistence and personal growth.

How Does the Company Benefit?

Apprentices learn to approach challenges with greater personal responsibility and persistence.

They become more open to feedback, more willing to learn from mistakes and better able to recognise how their own behaviour influences outcomes.

This supports motivation, adaptability and a more constructive approach to difficulties in everyday working life.

What Makes This Workshop Different

The workshop does not promote artificial optimism or suggest that every problem can be solved through positive thinking alone.

Instead, participants explore how attitudes influence their options for action and where they can realistically take responsibility.

Insights from psychology, mindset research, motivation and behavioural science are connected with practical situations from vocational training and everyday life.

What Apprentices Appreciate About This Workshop

Apprentices can reflect on their own attitudes without being judged or pressured to present themselves positively.

They recognise familiar patterns, discover new perspectives and develop practical ideas for situations in which they previously felt stuck.

The workshop combines serious reflection with engaging exercises, stories and examples that make abstract concepts easier to understand.

International Perspective

Attitudes towards mistakes, responsibility, authority, feedback and personal initiative are influenced by culture, education and organisational expectations.

The workshop can therefore be adapted to the cultural and professional context of the participants.

For international groups, it can also explore expectations regarding personal responsibility, independent learning and feedback in German companies and vocational education.
